The CLA45 is the quiet one of the 45 family. It carries the same engine as the A45 in a longer, lower four-door shell, and the factory system silences it to within an inch of its life to suit the car Mercedes thought it was selling. This system replaces that with mandrel-bent 304 stainless tubing and a valved rear muffler, and turns a fast four-door into one that sounds like it.

The valves are operated from a supplied remote, so the volume is your decision rather than something the throttle position decides for you. Closed, it is close enough to standard for an early morning. Open, it is a different car entirely.
