The upgrade that transforms an M156. These Long Tube Headers replace the restrictive factory manifolds on the Mercedes-AMG W204 C63 with equal-length, mandrel-bent stainless primaries and a merge collector on each bank.
On a naturally aspirated engine the manifold is the single most important part of the exhaust. The factory cast items are short and packaged tightly around the block; long tube headers give each cylinder a longer, smoother and equal-length primary, which is why they deliver the largest gains available to the 6.2 litre V8 and sharpen its response everywhere.
Supplied as a matched left and right pair, manufactured from stainless steel with mandrel bends, precision TIG welding and CNC-cut flanges.
Key Features
Equal Length Long Tube Primaries
Longer, smoother primaries of matched length, so each cylinder breathes out as freely as the next and the scavenging effect works with the engine rather than against it.
Supplied as a Matched Pair
One header for each bank of the V8, with everything needed to replace both factory manifolds.
Merge Collectors
Each set of primaries merges into a single collector, keeping gas speed up through the transition into the exhaust.
Stainless Steel Construction
Mandrel-bent stainless with precision TIG welding, built for the exhaust gas temperatures a hard-driven M156 produces.
CNC-Cut Flanges
Thick, precisely cut head flanges that stay flat under heat cycling and seal properly against the head.
Performance Benefits
The largest single power and torque gain available to the naturally aspirated M156
Stronger pull through the mid range and a harder top end
A deeper, more aggressive V8 note
Sharper throttle response
A proper foundation for a full exhaust system and a tune
Vehicle Fitment
Mercedes-AMG C63 (W204, 2008-2014)
6.2L Naturally Aspirated M156 V8 Engine
Supplied as a matched left and right pair. The M156 is a naturally aspirated V8 with a bank of cylinders each side, so the system runs two pipes from the headers back.
Please Note
Long tube headers are a motorsport part. They are intended for off-road, track and competition use only, and it is the owner's responsibility to comply with the regulations in their state.
An ECU tune is required to realise the full benefit and to keep the engine running correctly. Professional installation is strongly recommended - fitting headers to an M156 is a substantial job.
