Free up the M156 without giving up emissions control. This Catted Downpipe kit replaces both restrictive factory units on the Mercedes-AMG W204 C63 with high-flow sports catalytic converters, wrapped in full woven heat shielding.
The 6.2 litre V8 is naturally aspirated, so it responds directly to anything that lets it breathe out more freely. These keep a working catalyst on each bank while releasing most of the flow a catless kit offers, which is what makes them the sensible choice on a car that still has to do the daily drive - and they keep the note cleaner and far less raspy.
Manufactured from T304 stainless steel with mandrel bends and precision TIG welding throughout, wrapped in woven heat shielding, with the factory sensor bungs retained.
Key Features
High-Flow Sports Catalytic Converters
Far less restrictive than the factory units, retaining emissions control on both banks while releasing most of the flow a catless kit offers.
Supplied as a Matched Pair
The M156 runs a separate exhaust path for each bank, so it takes two pipes. This kit replaces both - changing only one leaves half the restriction in place.
Full Woven Heat Shielding
Wrapped over the length of both pipes, reducing radiant heat into the transmission tunnel and the components packed around them.
T304 Stainless Steel Construction
High-grade, corrosion-resistant material built to withstand the exhaust gas temperatures a hard-driven M156 produces.
Factory Sensor Bungs Retained
The pre and post catalyst oxygen sensors plug straight back into their original positions.
Cleaner Tone Than Catless
The catalysts take the hard rasp out of the note, which is the difference between a car you still enjoy on a long drive and one you do not.
Direct Bolt-On Fitment
Mounts to the factory manifold flanges and mid section using the original mounting points, with no cutting or fabrication.
Performance Benefits
Strong gains in power and torque through the mid range and top end
A deeper, harder V8 note without the rasp of a catless kit
Sharper throttle response
Far less likely to trigger a check engine light than a catless kit
Lower transmission tunnel temperatures thanks to the shielding
Vehicle Fitment
Mercedes-AMG C63 (W204, 2008-2014)
6.2L Naturally Aspirated M156 V8 Engine
Supplied as a matched left and right pair. The M156 is a naturally aspirated V8 with a bank of cylinders each side, so the system runs two pipes from the headers back.
Please Note
A high-flow sports catalytic converter is not a factory replacement part. Emissions hardware is regulated and the requirements vary between states, so please check your local regulations before purchasing or installing.
An ECU tune is recommended to realise the full benefit of the kit, and professional installation is recommended.
