BMW F87, M2 (N55) Performance Air Intake

Open up the N55 in your BMW F87 M2 with this Performance Air Intake — a full enclosed system with a moulded intake tube, a sealed airbox and a large high-flow cone filter in place of the restrictive factory assembly.

The standard M2 airbox is a big plastic case built around drive-by noise limits, feeding the turbo through a flat panel filter with a fraction of the surface area it could have. This replaces the lot: a smooth wrinkle-black intake tube running to the turbo inlet, a sealed enclosure that keeps the filter away from engine bay heat, and a cone filter with several times the factory filtration area.

Because the box is sealed rather than open, it still draws from the factory cold-air feed at the front of the bay. An open cone under the bonnet sounds louder and runs hotter; this does neither.

This intake is for the N55 M2. The M2 Competition runs the twin-turbo S55, which draws through two inlets rather than one and takes a completely different intake.

Please Note:

An ECU tune is recommended to realise the full benefit, though the induction note and throttle response improve without one. The filter is washable and reusable and should be cleaned and re-oiled at normal service intervals.
