The M5's boot lid is flat and long, and the factory leaves it bare. A ducktail is the fix: it picks up the trailing edge and gives the rear a defined stopping point, so the car reads as shorter and more purposeful from behind.

The PSM profile is not a plain lip — the centre rises into a distinct step and the ends sweep down into the boot corners, which is what makes the shape read as designed rather than added.
