Important — Headlight Compatibility

These modules are designed for LCI vehicles fitted with the factory Adaptive LED headlight. They are not compatible with the earlier Xenon/HID headlight.

Which Headlight Variant Do I Have?

The F8x was sold with several different headlights and the module is specific to each, so this needs to match your car. Look at the front of the headlight to identify it.

LCI Ikon — the facelift Adaptive LED unit. Dark housing with a distinctive hexagonal eye shape, and the indicator built into the upper eyebrow.

LCI LED — the facelift standard LED unit. Dark housing with rounded angel-eye rings and no hexagonal shaping.

PRE-LCI Xenon — the pre-facelift Xenon (HID) unit. Silver housing with plain, unbroken angel-eye rings.

The facelift arrived during 2017, so cars built from 2014 to early 2017 are generally pre-LCI and cars from 2017 onwards are generally LCI. Build date is more reliable than model year.

One more to be aware of: some pre-facelift cars were ordered with the optional Adaptive LED headlight. At a glance it looks like the Xenon — silver housing — but it has a bar running through the centre of each angel-eye ring. If that is your car, contact us before ordering and we will confirm the correct module.
