Mercedes C117, CLA45 AMG Titanium Valved Catback Exhaust

This is the CLA45 exhaust taken as far as it goes. A full Titanium Valved Catback Exhaust for the Mercedes-AMG CLA45, built entirely from titanium with a heat-treated blue finish and a twin-valved rear muffler.

Titanium is roughly forty per cent lighter than stainless steel at the same strength, and on a system this long that is real weight taken out of the back half of the car. It also holds heat differently, which is where a titanium system gets its characteristic harder, higher edge on overrun.

The blue running through the pipework is not a coating. It is the colour titanium takes on when it is heat treated, which is why no two systems come out identical and why it deepens rather than fades with use.

The valves are operated from a supplied remote, so the volume is your decision rather than something the throttle position decides for you. Closed, it is close enough to standard for an early morning. Open, it is a different car entirely.
